If you’re having reconstruction whether it’s following a mastectomy or lumpectomy, reducing or increasing your breast size your surgeon has probably recommended that you purchase a bra with mild compression for after surgery. They may have even said all you need is a sports bra.
This can be a very challenging process. Not all bras are the same & what do they mean by mild compression. What size should I get? Should it have a zipper in the front, etc? These are all great questions.
I have a bra called the Patricia that will provide exactly what you need. I try to carry one of every size at all times so that when you come to see me you can take it home with you. I have fitted many clients with this bra so I know how the surgeon’s want it to fit.
If your reconstruction is being done following a mastectomy then you’re going to have one to four drains depending on which surgery is being done. I carry drain pouches that can be attached directly to the band of this bra & then removed when they are no longer required.
